FAQs

Do you offer GP services for anything else other than joint injections and diagnosis of muscle and joint problems?

Sorry, we don’t.

Do you offer any imaging services such as X-rays, MRIs etc?
If additional imaging or tests are needed, Dr Ram will guide you on the next steps, such as referrals for X-rays or MRIs. However, imaging is often unnecessary, as it can reveal incidental findings unrelated to your symptoms. Dr Ram focuses on understanding your symptoms and how they impact your daily life, with a thorough history and examination forming 95% of the diagnosis.

How often can you get an injection into a joint?

You can have an injection into a specific joint only as frequently as every 3 calendar months.

However, getting an injection into a different joint within the 3 calendar months is safe.

Can you have a joint injection into 2 or more joints in the same day?

You can do so safely. We should be able to fit them into one consultation. Pay upfront online for 1 injection (£150) and then we will give you a 20% discount on further ones done in that consultation, with the balance made by card at the appointment.

Can I get an injection into a joint with metalwork/plastic in?

Sorry, this is unsafe.

What medicine do you inject?
We inject a steroid which you may also know as cortisone (normally methylprednisolone)
and the local anaesthetic called lidocaine.

How do I pay?
Payment is online at the point of booking. You will be directed to a secure website from this
page.

Do you accept medical insurance payments?
Some Medicash customers would be covered- they should check with their specific policy to see if they can reclaim the “consultation” cost. Otherwise, unfortunately not- we are a small business and do not want to be constrained by private medical insurance companies.

Do you see under 18s?

No, there is no great evidence for the use of steroid injections in this younger age group.

Do you perform botox injections?
Sorry we don’t.
